The Key Laboratory of Mechanism Theory and Equipment Design of Ministry of Education at Tianjin University held a lab opening event on the theme of wonderful mechanisms on April 20, 2018. In this event, more than 140 primary school students from the affiliated elementary school of Tianjin University visited MSL, which is one of the major research groups of the key laboratory.

      Professor Jiayao Ma made a simple and easy-to-understand popular science lecture: Origami and Deployable Structures. The students are presented with new technologies, new achievements, and new applications of institutional theories by physical objects, photos, videos, and other forms. Meanwhile, through popular science lectures, live demonstrations, zero-distance contact and operation, the primary school students can experience the charm of science and technology, which will inspire their innovation and interest on mechanisms.
