On June 29, 2019, MSL held a group meeting of the second semester in the 2018-2019 school year. The participants include all the faculty members, graduate students and undergraduates. During the group meeting, students reported the research progress of this semester, and made research plans for the next six months. The presentations covered spatial mechanisms, rigid origami, metamaterials, robots, lightweight structures, developable structures and other fields. This meeting aimed at not only to enhance the communication between teachers and students, but also to broaden the horizons of all the group members.
       MSL always focuses on the frontier of scientific research and also the great need of the nation. These research areas include deployable structures, metamaterials, light weight structures, reconfigurable structures as well as robot technique. All the MSL faulty members, who graduate from the top universities worldwide, have broad international vision, world-class academic level and reputation. MSL always aims to cultivate students' comprehensive ability. For example, in addition to regular weekly group meetings of discussion and semi-annual summary reports, the tutor team regularly invites experts and scholars from famous universities worldwide, research institutes and well-known enterprises in the field to deliver lectures and interact with the group members. MSL maintains strong connections with both the industry and the academia, and provides its members opportunities for overseas exchange as well as internship. Here, the MSL faculties are really proud that their graduate students could now be found in academic positions in top universities, well-known research institutes as well as a variety of high-tech industries.
