The 4th China Metamaterials Conference (CMMC 2025) was held in Shenzhen from May 15 to 18, 2025. With the theme "Anchor Disruptive Technologies, Forge New Quality Productivity," the conference gathered numerous leading experts in the metamaterials field. During the event, Mengyue Li, a Ph.D. student from the Motion Structures Laboratory, delivered an oral presentation titled "Double-Tubular Origami Metamaterials with Independently Programmable and Tunable Mechanical and Acoustic Properties," which earned him the conference's Graduate Academic Newcomer Award. This research designed an origami metamaterial that simultaneously possesses mechanical and acoustic properties, achieving independent programming and in-situ tuning of these dual physical characteristics. The authors of this work include Tianjin University Ph.D. student Mengyue Li, Professor Jiayao Ma, Ph.D. student Xiaolei Tang, Professor Yanfeng Wang, and Professor Yan Chen.
